Fancy is a radical fat fashion boutique located in NE Portland, Oregon. 

Fat Fancy’s mission is to create a comfortable, fun, body positive space for our diverse family of plus size customers and artists to sell and buy clothing, accessories, and body positive merchandise. We believe that by connecting them to each other we can create a stronger plus size community.
Come visit our storefront on burgeoning Sandy Boulevard in Portland's Hollywood Neighborhood! We are on the max line, near many fun boutiques, delicious restaurants and the famous Hollywood Theatre! 

HER STORY

Fat Fancy’s very first sale was held out of our founder’s, Annie Maribona, studio apartment.  She cleared out her belongings, pushed in her murphy bed, and wheeled in clothing racks bursting with glamour.  People came from far and wide to munch on snacks, shop, bop to soul music, and watch Hairspray! A wonderful time was had by all, and herstory was made!

From there, we began throwing monthly sales out of a friend’s basement in NE Portland and Carlee Smith joined the team. During “the basement years”, we amassed a ton of support from the community, including Beth Ditto, formerly of the band, Gossip, and Leslie Hall of Leslie and the Lys.Since opening the doors to Fat Fancy's storefront in December of 2009 we have also had celebrity shoppers such as Adele and Nicole Byers! Fat Fancy has been featured in local, national, and international publications. We’ve been written up in The UK Guardian, Bust, Bitch, Lucky and Curve Magazines, The Oregonian, and even in the New York Times Style section! We were also featured on French TV with Beth Ditto as one of her favorite places to shop in Portland.

In June 11th 2016, Fat Fancy re-opened in NE Portland under the new ownership of Beethoven Thornton and Erica Bauer was added to the Fat Fancy team in 2021! Bee and Erica are so excited for new adventures!
